Yell reviews

The benefits of a positive review

64% of UK internet users trust reviews of products and services from other consumers[2]61% of UK internet users read online reviews for products and services, (and 49% post online reviews)[3].

Reviews are a great way to take your reputation online, sharing positive personal experiences with a much larger audience. Being talked about in reviews means there’s more information about your business on the internet. This makes it easier for people to find you through Google, Yahoo! and other major search engines.

The more positive reviews you have, the higher up you’ll appear in the Reviews search results. It's simple, if you’ve got good reviews, people will be more likely to trust your overall rating. Customer testimonials are a free and easy way to build your reputation online.

"I fully believe that a positive reputation online can help any business. I replied to reviews left for my company because I was very happy that customers felt strongly enough to take the time and effort to find my company online and leave a positive comment about us. I've had people tell me that they read the reviews and called me because the reviews inspired them."

It's a good idea to encourage your more loyal customers to leave a testimonial. All they have to do is find your Yell online advert and click on 'Review this business'. The reviews feature is a great way to keep tabs of your online reputation and of course you can respond directly to comments and receive feedback from your customers.

What if you get a bad review?

Of course there's always the chance you may get a bad review, but this can be good for your business too.  No-one likes to get a bad review. But there are ways a bad review can end up showing your business in a good light. It all depends on how you respond.

Yell suggests that if you get a bad review, you do 2 things:

First, you apologise for any disappointment to show your customers you care about them.

Secondly, you address the issues raised to show you not only listen, but act too. Do these things and a negative review can have a positive outcome. To see more about how reviews can work for you, watch this short online video.

No extra charge

The Yell Reviews feature is included with a Yell Advert, including a Free Listing. So, if you have a Yell Free Listing you can start getting customer reviews today for free.
