Our business has a rich heritage featuring iconic brands such as Yellow Pages and Yell.com in the UK, Yellowbook in the US and Paginas Amarillas in Spain, Chile, Peru and Argentina.
To meet the converging needs of local businesses and consumers, we are transforming our global organisation to one that has a greater digital focus. We are developing innovative new products, and our dynamic new brand reflects this, signalling that we are a digital business of the future. Our aim is to give businesses the digital opportunities typically only available to the largest companies, while making it possible for our consumers to connect with businesses how they want, whenever they want. When people connect, communities thrive, and we are a vital connection in an ever changing world.
That's why we have changed from Yell to hibu.
hibu is our new company name reflecting our increasing focus on the digital consumer. It will also be used in conjunction with our new strategic initiatives going forward.
What does the brand stand for?
Helping communities thrive. When people connect, communities thrive. Our identity is a symbol of this. Together our trademark three dots represent a community, where businesses and consumers who are connected by hibu can simplify and enrich each other’s lives.
Why change a well-known brand name?
As a global business we need to ensure we have a strong brand wherever we are.
Research showed us that the hibu brand was universally liked by both businesses and consumers across all our geographies, and is more relevant to reflect our digital strategy.
What will happen to your existing print brands?
All of our directory products (e.g. Yellow Pages, and Yell.com in the UK) which are sold under strong but different brands in each country, will continue to exist and be sold under those current brands.
What does this mean for my current contract?
Any existing contract with us remains valid, but any new contract will be coming to you with the hibu name from this point.
How do I access my account details?
You can view all your account details at service.hibu.co.uk. This now replaces yelldirect.com.
Do I have to contact my bank?
No, you don’t need to do a thing. If you pay by direct debit, the switch to hibu will occur automatically and you’ll start to see hibu on your bank statements. In fact you don't even need to complete a new Direct Debit instruction. If you prefer to pay by cheque, you need to change who you make this payable to – which will now be hibu (UK) Limited.
What about billing?
Invoices will now also come from hibu, not Yell.
Does this mean a change to my current advertising - the way it looks, the way it works?
You may notice some slight changes to the products and services you have with us, if they carry a Yell logo, which will change over time to hibu. This is the only change you should see to current products. You will also start to see a broader range of digital products being launched in the near future. You can see some of these already at hibubusiness.co.uk.

Will there be more changes?
This is an incredibly exciting time with changes happening now, and more developments over the next few months. Any further changes that affect the advertising you have with us will be communicated to you directly. Our email addresses have changed, so please add hibu@mail.hibu.co.uk to your email address book, or safe senders list, so that you do not miss any further important information regarding your business with us.
